On-line tools

An on-line tool - tsetse.org (http:www.tsetse.org) - was developed by AHP and includes programmes and information to assist in the planning and implementation of tsetse control operations.

Of particular interest is the Tsetse Plan program used to aid in the planning and use of bait technologies to control tsetse. The main purpose of Tsetse Plan is to provide a computerised simulation of the interactive help that would be available if farmers, a non-governmental organisation or general veterinarian were able to chat with a tsetse control specialist on-site, to assess the situation in their area, draw up the strategy for bait control, identify technical specifications prepare a budget and provide general notes on implementing the plan.

The site was created as an output of research project R7173 and also includes information on bait technologies and FAQs related to various tsetse specific topics.
